I can't remember where I saw it, but I recall someone reviewing Spawn Resurrection. In that video he said it seemed like a "ghost writing" scenario where Todd was really calling the shots. Sounds like that was true.

Now looking at the new Spawn from Jonboy, I mean it was heavily-Venom influenced. Remember when Todd McFarlane really relaunched Venom and Spiderman? Seems like he may have been too involved in that too.

In any case, I remember in this review it also talked about how the writing in Spawn is unique in that it constantly changes the past, and not the future. And how that's got to be incredible frustrating from a canon perspective. I can imagine new readers experiencing the same concern with learning about the past and no one knows who Wanda is, why we care about this freaking unborn child, and who these new demons are.

It was interesting reads, but they were just poorly written and designed. No hate against Todd, but he has to let a writer re-write for him instead of trying to re-write the writer's work...

Even with that, I love Spawn too and probably why I continue to read it. I'm just concerned, look at those sales numbers? It's not working, you have to breath new life into this Todd!
