Marc Slayton was the first superhero to take up the name Backlash. With only a subset of his memories, he spent thousands of years traveling the earth. He later joined Team 7, a special ops unit which was deliberately exposed to a mutagenic chemical called the Gen-Factor. His daughter, Jodi Slayton, has since adopted the name and since the Worldstorm event. Jodi later took her father's codename Backlash when she worked with Savant and became a member of the WildC.A.T.s. Backlash was created by Jim Lee and Brett Booth in his original incarnation. He first appeared in StormWatch #3 (1993). Jodi was created by Sean Ruffner and Brett Booth in Backlash #9. |
