Synopsis for "Fire on the Moon"
Ultiman alerted his R.T.A. teammates about a fire on the Moon caused by a spacecraft crashing. Elsewhere in Washington, the "president" called for a joint session of Congress. However, the "president" was actually one of Dexter Cortex's drone bodies who attempted to kill Congress with nerve gas. Ultiman arrived inside of the Capitol Building and revealed that he already rescued the real president before punching the drone into the sky, where it exploded, stunning him and causing him to plummet. The Beacon intervened and saved the weakened Ultiman and took him to the R.T.A. HQ.
Knight Watchman recalled Ultiman gaining his powers from a meteor filled with ultranium twenty years earlier and that he could rejuvenate them from exposure to radiation from the same meteor. However, when Ultiman attempted this, he was sickened by the radiation before he started healing and regaining his powers. Ultiman flew to the Moon, where he encountered the strange visitor and watched him commit suicide. When Ultiman checked on the visitor, the latter burned his face. The rest of the R.T.A. saw Ultiman headed towards them, they realized that he was out of his mind with pain.
The Beacon rushed towards Ultiman, but his eyes were glowing and he attacked her. Knight Watchman ordered Thunder Girl and the Blitz to help her, as he learned that the visitor and his crew were being killed off one by one by a parasite. The Blitz rushed to save the Beacon from Ultiman, then attacked him before being punched into the sky. Then, Thunder Girl confronted him and Ultiman insisted on "rather making love than war" with her. Thunder Girl used magical lightning to weaken the parasite's control over Ultiman. After it regained control, Ultiman was prepared to kill Thunder Girl before his robots surrounded them and attacked him. He defeated the robots before Knight Watchman's Flying Shield attacked him. He attacked the Flying Shield, witch Knight Watchman destroyed with a switch from the ground.
As Ultiman had already burned off a lot of energy, Thunder Girl transformed back into Molly Wilson and lent power to the Blitz. However, Ultiman was still more powerful than the Blitz, so Molly transformed back into Thunder Girl, taking away the Fastest Man on Earth's temporary power. "Knight Watchman" defeated the weakened Ultiman, causing the parasite to leave his body and enter that of the Twilight Paladin's. However, it did not take over his body and was instead trapped by the Beacon and the Blitz. It was revealed that "Knight Watchman" was actually one of Ultiman's robots in disguise. Ultiman deduced that the parasite only affected living beings.
Afterwards, the R.T.A. kept the parasite in their trophy room and Ultiman decided to let his powers recharge by resting for a few days and insisted that if there was an emergency, they should call Thunder Girl.
