Synopsis for "The Riddle of the Sphinx"

The Sphinx chased down a group of bank robbers in their van, picked it up, and put it outside of a police station, where the police arrested the bank robbers. The police thanked the Sphinx and children wanted his autograph. Then, the Sphinx returned to the Pyramid Tower, where he discussed his media image with his business partner Allison Kane. Then, Peter went to his computer Sentry to check the Trans-Dimensional Focal Disruptor. Next, he greeted a news team who were sitting in his living room and offered to tell them the story of the bank robbery.

Meanwhile, Trask of United Technologies International was determined to compete with Chefren Technologies. Later, he left his office, distraught. An interview between Beverly Tate and Peter was conducted, as Trask watched and learned of a project in the works from Chefren Technologies. He subsequently attempted to hire the Fixer.

The next week, Peter and Allison visited Professor Dexter in his laboratory and observed the operation of his new molecular frequency transducer. They watched a coffee mug disappear from the device and return. However, Peter declared that he would have to shut the project down, claiming that the effects would be disastrous. Later, Peter and Allison argued, as the Fixer broke into the lab. As the Sphinx, Peter went to investigate, but after a while, Allison didn't hear anything from him, so she went to investigate herself and was subdued by the Fixer. As the Fixer held her at gunpoint, the Sphinx swooped in and saved her. The intruder revealed that he was sent to spy on Chefren Technologies and that there was a bomb on Sentry. The bomb exploded and the Sphinx claimed that the Fixer had just "unlocked Pandora's Box."

Suddenly, a soldier from the Pharaoh's Elite Guard had arrived to arrest the Sphinx. The Fixer attempted to flee, but was killed by the soldier. Allison learned that Peter was from another dimension and he ordered Allison to leave, while he fought the soldier and defeated him with the help of his female companion. Afterwards, the Sphinx attempted to close the dimensional rift. He declared that he had to return to his home dimension in order to stop the Pharaoh's forces from returning. The Sphinx left for his home dimension with the unconscious soldier, much to the sadness of Allison.

Peter Chefren was declared dead and his wealth and influence were left in Allison's hands. Several months later, Allison found another Sphinx costume and put it on, before going for a flight.
