The Pentagon received a transmission from a supposed red alien demanding the United States surrender. Knight Watchman and ShadowHawk spotted each other from their Flying Shield and ShadowCar, respectively, and agreed to join forces before they saw a flying saucer crash. An individual named Agent X was informed of the crash and the two vigilantes' presence.

The two vigilantes followed Colonel Burnley to the Pentagon, where J. Edgar Hoover granted them permission to investigate the saucer. Knight Watchman revealed that Dr. Igor Eisner had created the saucer and was missing. Then, Knight Watchman showed ShadowHawk evidence that Eisner was being held captive in the Lincoln Memorial.
