Synopsis for "The Deeds of the Doomslayer"
At Bleekwood Penitentiary, Simon "Cynaide" Sands was sentenced to die by the electric chair. When the chair was activated, Sands had vanished, which left the guards shocked. On top of the Pyramid Tower in the nearby city of Jefferson, the Sphinx was building a transdimensional disruptor in order to keep his enemies from his home dimension from finding him. The next day, Governor Carter Fox and Commissioner Hall visited Peter Chefren at the Pyramid Tower and informed him about the disappearances of inmates. Several weeks later, "Killer" Konroy was scheduled for execution, but the Sphinx took his place instead and when the chair was activated, the hero disappeared and found himself in his home dimension. A few moments later, he was teleported to the laboratory of the Doomsayer, who had been transferring the brains of inmates into robotic suits. The Sphinx destroyed the robots as the Doomsayer fled. Then, the Sphinx realized that he was in the Waterfront District of Jefferson. When the police arrived in the lab, they realized that the brains were still alive in the robotic heads. Later, the Sphinx contemplated his encounter with the Doomsayer.
