Synopsis for 1st story
The Black Ops team prepares to leave while Crane goes back to his cabin to collect his things. He recalls how Markov shot and killed Catherine Fullerton, his teammate and lover, during a Black Razor mission to destroy Markov’s Gamorran lab. As he leaves, he detects intruders and tells the team to leave without him. A squad of Black Razors attack, and Crane subdues them one by one while the others take off in the Black Talon. At IO, Rios briefs Santini on Shire’s past as a Soviet defector to the U.S. Afterward, Rios’s deputy Marisa Chambers informs him that the Black Ops team consists of supposedly dead Black Razors. Crane flies to rural West Virginia to rendezvous with the team at the home of his retired comrade, Lee Gardner. Searching a covert database to trace Markov’s location, Gardner points the team to an island off the coast of Estonia. En route, Black Ops plans their assault and learns from Geek’s IO contact that Black Razors are tracking them. Geek stays aboard their jet while they parachute onto Markov’s island. Armed security robots engage them just as the Black Razors arrive.
