Synopsis for 1st story

Early one morning, Velocity wakes up from a nightmare and finds C.C. in the kitchen.  She remarks that she wishes she knew the team better so C.C. shows her how to access personnel files in the Subplex’s computer system.  She chooses Cyblade, and it begins relating Dominique’s biography:

20 years ago, Dominique Thiebaut lived in the small European country of Chalenne, the daughter of wealthy playboy Patrick Thiebaut.  When she was an adolescent, a squad of cyborgs attempted to abduct her from school. Her fright activated her superhuman abilities, and she used them to fend off her attackers.  In response, her father hired the mercenary Madame Jocelyn to train her in the martial arts.  One day, Patrick interrupted a training session, and Dominique lashed out at him. Outraged that she had grown closer to Jocelyn than to him, he fired Jocelyn and left for a trip.  Soon thereafter, Patrick and Dominique’s brother Michel were killed in an accident. Patrick’s will named Jocelyn as Dominique’s legal guardian.  Dominique became her sidekick, joining her on mercenary jobs.  Four years later, they snuck aboard a cruise ship taken hostage by terrorists.  While Dominique slayed the terrorists, Jocelyn retrieved a chip from a Cyberdata scientist—their ostensible client—and killed him.  After they escaped in a raft, the ship exploded.  Dominique went on to attend university at the Sorbonne in Paris.  One day, Jocelyn lured her aboard a plane, knocked her out, and took her to Cyberdata for cybernetic augmentation.  Brainwashed, Dominique was given the codename Cyblade and became a S.H.O.C.  When Gregroy Corben went rogue, he gave her access to a secret facility where she found her brother alive in stasis.  Jocelyn caught her and admitted to having been a Cyberdata agent all along. Their ensuing battle started a fire that destroyed the facility and seemingly killed Michel.

The system records stop there as, after that, Cyblade became part of Cyberforce. Meanwhile, at a Cyberdata lab on Long Island, scientists run tests on Michel, now a cyborg himself.  Believing Cyblade betrayed him and killed their father, he vows revenge.
