Synopsis for 1st story
Ripclaw doubles over in pain and passes out while training against combat droids. He remembers sparring at a martial arts dojo as a teenager, accidentally injuring a classmate when claws suddenly grew on his fingers. Once he got home, his father refused to listen to what happened just as he rejected any discussion of their family history. Frustrated, young Robert searched through items in storage and learned they were Native Americans with the last name Bearclaw. In the present, the rest of Cyberforce watches while Dr. Corben struggles to save Ripclaw, his body rejecting his cybernetic implants. Young Robert traveled to his parents’ previous address on the Navajo reservation in Arizona where he met a medicine man named Pahute. Pahute helped him perform a painful ritual known as the Vow of the Sun during which spirits revealed he was the Ghost Warrior, a prophesied champion for Native Americans. In the process, Robert grew massive and more muscular. Pahute told about the tradition of the Ghost Dance and painted markings on him which magically became permanent. Some time later, Robert was arrested in upstate New York following a bar fight. Cyberdata learned of his superhuman abilities and abducted him, transforming him into a mind controlled cybernetic operative. During a solo mission, spirits freed him from Cyberdata’s command, and he went rogue. Ripclaw wakes up, and Corben tells him his body spontaneously stopped rejecting the implants. He goes to visit his parents in Los Angeles but finds they have long since moved on.
