Synopsis for 1st story
Cyberforce is searching the Subplex for Killjoy when she leaps out of a vent and crashes onto the floor, babbling about Kraken. Corben sedates her, and they return her to sickbay. Heatwave dispatches Ballistic and Stryker to Manhattan to investigate Killjoy’s claims while Cyblade reassures Velocity about the future of the team. Outside, Kraken reaches Cyberforce’s training grounds and makes short work of some combat droids. Ballistic and Stryker arrive at Cyberdata headquarters and find it abandoned with the roof blown off. Inside, the two battle S.H.O.C.s. whose armor was programmed to keep fighting even after they died. Back at the Subplex, Corben explains to Cyblade and Heatwave that Kraken is a Cyberdata doomsday weapon, a lethal cyborg that telepathically transmits pain and fear. He says it predates Cyberdata, dating back to Zadrok’s Antarctic expedition. Over Antarctica, Layter orders two armored troops to return to New York and make sure Zadrok is dead. At Cyberdata headquarters, Ballistic and Stryker descend to the sub-basement and access a secret chamber. Inside, Emil Zadrok greets them.
