Synopsis for "Brothers in Arms, Part 5"
Alicia Turner calls Grifter to warn him about Craven and tells him to meet her. As soon as the call ends, Craven and the Brethren capture her, and Doubletake mimics her form. Cray and Dane go to Cash’s apartment and battle Black Razors sent by Craven. Cray questions one of them and learns where the Brethren are going to ambush Grifter. At the train station, Grifter arrives to meet Turner and immediately recognizes Doubletake as an impostor. The Brethren subdue him and extract his Gen-Factor. Cray and Dane arrive, kill Doubletake, and rescue Cash. They regroup at Drop Zone and decide to find former IO scientist Gabriel Newman for more answers. At IO, Craven dispatches Le Gauche to Gamorra with the extracted Gen-Factor. Cray, Dane, and Grifter learn Newman is being held in a facility on Plum Island. They infiltrate the facility and find Newman who reveals the origin of Project Genesis: Cray’s father brought the discoverer of Gen-Factor, Hong Kong scientist Simon Tsung, to the U.S. to help win the Cold War, but Craven sought instead to use Gen-Factor to create his own army of superhumans; when Tsung learned of Craven’s plans, he took his research and fled. Newman then reveals that Craven is dying, he needs Gen-Factor’s healing properties to survive, and he is working with Kaizen Gamorra. As the others leave, Cray gives Newman a gun. Knowing Craven will kill him for talking, Newman commits suicide. Later, in the woods outside IO headquarters in Virginia, Cray, Dane, Backlash, and Grifter meet up with John Lynch, reuniting Team 7. Joined by Gen 13, they prepare to confront Craven.
