History

Donald Ferguson was Cecil Stedman's assistant, Guardians of the Globe contact, and an Agent of the Global Defense Agency.

At the clandestine Global Defense Agency, Debbie is told that the comatose Omni-Man was in their secret hospital but couldn't revive the Guardians. Donald tells her that they have a lot of technology, but Debbie says they are not interested in a tour.

They make it to Nolan's room, where they see Nolan laying without responding. Cecil introduces himself and tells them that they have no idea who did it. Debbie tells him that he has some nerve, but he tells them that the Guardians had been murdered, and they were unable to bring them back with Nolan being the only survivor. Cecil tells them that the news would eventually spread, but he wanted them to know first. Debbie asks for materials and refuses to leave Nolan, mentioning that she had patched him up for twenty years. Donald gets a report that there was an undergoing attack with multiple casualties and Mark leaves to go help out.

Later, Cecil asks Donald for some good news, but he tells his boss that whoever had killed the Guardians had turned off the cameras and security systems. Cecil complains that what he had said was not good news and tells everybody to get out. He tells the demon detective Damien Darkblood to reveal himself. Darkblood looks around and tells Cecil everything he knows. Cecil tells Darkblood to have at it and let him know if he needs help.

Donald then supervised GDA's first response to Nolan's now-evident betrayal after he came back to his house despite Debbie rejecting him earlier. Noticing the invisible soldiers, Nolan quickly and effortlessly massacred them, then found Donald with the other GDA agents in the house next to his. When Nolan came levitating in, furious for GDA spying on him and his family, Donald begged him to stop, but Nolan only insulted him and moved to deal with him. Donald then grabbed a high-calibre machine gun, which managed to slightly harm Nolan. After the rest of the GDA fled the house, Nolan defeated Donald and fatally gripped his spine. With his dying breath, Donald admitted the honor of his service to Cecil and blew the house up in a futile attempt to stop Nolan, who, unscathed, headed out right after to find Mark.

Trivia

In the original comics, Donald was a cyborg rather than fully human and had a supporting role in various storylines. It is unknown if he will return in some capacity despite his death.
