Long ago, mankind and werewolves were controlled by a council of Elders known as the Elder Broods. Elder Brood would become greedy and want all the power to himself. He would kill the other elders and become the ruler of all the werewolves, the one and only Elder Brood. He would not lead well and drive the werewolves into hiding. Upon seeing the error of his ways, he would look around for a successor to lead the werewolves from their former glory. He would observe Gary Hampton for years and to see he had what it takes to be his successor. He would see that he was a good person as he was compassionate, devoted to his wife, and already a man of vast wealth [1]. From there, he decided that Gary would be his successor. He would attack Gary and successfully turn him into a werewolf [2].

Advanced Age: Because Elder Brood has lived for centuries, he requires his wolf form in order to stay alive. Were he to revert to human form, he would die.
