HistoryEdit

Origin

David Waller was a serial killer. He was paroled by the government due to being a triple-kinetic, a pyrokinetic, a telepath and a telekinetic.[2] The government put psychic dampeners on David and shut down his telepathic skills.[3]

1992

Using the codename Psi-Fire, David Waller became a member of Youngblood's International Task Force alongside Combat, Cougar, Brahma, Riptide and Sentinel. On March, 1992, one of their missions involved the execution of terrorist Hassan Kussein, leader of a group called the Holy Unification, in Israel. During the mission, Psi-fire harassed Riptide. When she, Sentinel and Brahma fell into an energy field that disrupted synapses, Psi-fire escaped the trap by floating above the ground. Kussein and his armored soldiers revealed themselves, but Psi-Fire revealed he could have killed Kussein from the states, but he wanted to do it personally. He explained he respected Kussein's results, but America paid him more, and even if they didn't, he worked for the pleasure of killing. After this, Psi-Fire used telekinesis to cause Kussein's head to explode, ending the mission. The rest of Kussein's army surrendered shortly afterwards.[4]

Due to this murder against orders, Psi-Fire was put on probation with a psychic dampener, but he still accompanied the International Task Force a week later when they were tasked with with visiting a G.A.T.E. International laboratory in Germany to transport a sleeping super-soldier named Jonathan Taylor Prophet to America. Accidentally, Youngblood awakened Prophet, right when Prophet's enemies, the Disciples of Doom, assaulted the laboratory, alongside another band of heroes named the Berzerkers.[5] The Disciples proved to be too many, and knocked every combatant out.[6] Although the arrival of the Youngblood Home Team helped even the odds, the arrival of the Disciple's master, Darkthornn, changed things.[7] Nobody could defeat Darkthornn, so Psi-Fire pleaded to Riptide and Youngblood Home Team member Vogue to free him. Considering they didn't have a choice, the women freed Psi-Fire, who overpowered Darkthornn with his powers and forced him to retreat back to his home planet D'khay[8]

The fight against Darkthornn left Psi-Fire comatose, until he transferred his mind to a female medical staff member. Psi-Fire attacked Youngblood until he/she tried to use his powers against Masada, but since Masada's powers came from several souls, it overwhelmed Psi-Fire.[9] At Youngblood headquarters, Sentinel’s team is debating what to do with the unconscious Psi-Fire when Keever calls an emergency meeting regarding the situation at Quantum Base.[10]

Battlestone takes delivery of Psi-Fire original body in a stasis pod.[11] and is informed that Psi-Fire’s mind is not in his body.[12]

Later his body is taken captive by Sith who has a base in Washington, DC. Sith psychically feeds on negative emotions and uses Psi-Fire to stoke hate and violence worldwide. He is eventually rescued by Maximage and taken to Youngblood.[13]
