History

Origins[]

While there are only theories about his actual origins Furnace became known to the authorities when, along with other criminals, tried to raid Fort Knox. The raid failed when the Guardians of the Globe showed up but he managed to run away during the confusion and started to work for various criminals in the following years. Despite disliking working with others he often found himself working with Tether Tyrant.[1]

Machine Head[]

Furnace eventually became a free agent but his indipendence was cut short when Invincible destroyed his suit, forcing him to go back to working for hire.[2]

He was hired by Machine Head and, along with his partner Tether Tyrant, was sent to Russia to rescue and recruit Kursk in Machine Head's organization.[3]

When Invincible and Titan attacked Machine Head Furnace was overjoyed at the prospect of getting revenge on the young hero but failed to even hurt him and his suit was destroyed again when Magnattack accidentally hurled Tether Tyrant against him.[4]
