History

Genetic And Technological Engineering was Jason Temple's company. It counted with its own super-team, Heavy Mettle.[1] One of its workers was Joseph McCall.[2]

In 1992, a G.A.T.E. facility in Germany acquired the frozen body of Jonathan Taylor Prophet, an act which led to the facility being attacked by androids called Disciples of Doom[3] and their master, Darkthornn.[4] Although many G.A.T.E scientists died, the attack was fended off by Prophet, the super-hero team called Youngblood and the freedom fighters called Berzerkers.[5]

When Supreme returned to Earth after 47 years, Jason Temple decided he'd be the perfect leader for Heavy Mettle[6] and successfully hired him shortly after.[7]

In 1993, they were planning to fire Corben, the commander of their Arizona Compound, Jericho. To prove his worth, Corben hired the top-secret Government strike force Bloodstrike to take him out, planning on stopping them and securing his job. However, the plan backfired, and Bloodstrike killed everyone in Jericho.[8]

Shortly afterwards, a G.A.T.E. compound in Los Angeles was visited by the superhero team Brigade, who asked the resident doctor Sandler to bring their teammate Stasis back to life through Project: Born Again. Sandler agreed, adding they would owe him, and put Stasis' body in a nutrient bath.[9] An hour later, the compound came under attack by Bloodstrike, who were hunting Brigade.[10] After some fighting, Bloodstrike found Stasis's body in her resurrection chamber, and vowed to prevent her from coming back to life, as every member of Bloodstrike had been resurrected through Project: Born Again and it had damaged their psyches.[11] Bloodstrike member Shogun destroyed Stasis's chamber, preventing her resurrection. After that, Brigade beat their enemies, but let them live, and both of them departed the G.A.T.E. facility in their respective jets.[12]
