Gaze is a member of the Chasers, who were employed by the US government to capture the fugitive Backlash[1]. They went after Amanda Reed as bait, but she proved to be more than they thought, until she was defeated by Brawl[2]. When Backlash went to rescue Reed, he faced Gaze and Homicide. After Backlash defeated Homicide, Gaze used his telepathic powers to make Backlash relive painful moments of his past, but Marc managed to overcome him.[3]
When Backlash and Taboo found the Chasers again, Gaze had to stop Homicide from killing Marc, since their mission wasn't against the heroes, but instead to inform Amanda that she was being offered an amnesty.[4]
