Pre-Apocalypse[]
Glenn was a pizza delivery boy with financial problems in Macon, Georgia. While in college, Glenn learned how to hot-wire cars to make a living with his friends. His debts got so big that he was almost forced to return to his parents' house.[1]
Post-Apocalypse[]
At some point, Glenn made it to Atlanta where he met and joined a group of survivors on the outskirts of the city. Being the younger and most athletic member, Glen offered to be the supply runner, getting into the city infested with zombies, getting some goods, and returning to the camp. The group stockpiled canned food and other supplies for weeks thanks to him, even after leaving the camp.[2] In one of his supply runs, he crossed paths with Rick Grimes, who was about to get surrounded by zombies. Glenn rescued him and brought him to the camp, where he coincidentally reunited with his family.[3]
Time passed, and Glenn developed some attraction to Carol. But he lost his chance when Tyreese joined the group, who seemed to hit it off with her quite fast. When the group reached Hershel's Farm, Maggie Greene noticed his feelings of jealousy, and he admitted that he was worried of ending up alone and virgin, without many girls to hook up with. The awkward honesty didn't bother Maggie, who also felt the same way not having many guys not related to her around, and they started a relationship.[4]
