Synopsis for 1st story
Surrounded by the Quiet Men, Grifter and Zealot fight Sayonara until she inexplicably takes their side. Soldier arrives, and they engage the Quiet Men. Mid-battle, the Quiet Men tranquilize Zealot and teleport away with her. Soldier turns on Sayonara, and she vanishes. Afterward, he introduces Grifter to Zealot’s pet panther Boojum and reveals the origin of the Quiet Men. During the Crusades, Zealot mentored an English knight named Dakor in the ways of the Coda. He failed to complete the training and despondently walked into the desert to die. There, he was found and recruited by Helspont. Dakor dubbed himself the Sybarite and founded the Quiet Men as the male counterpart to the Coda. Soldier then shows Grifter a tracking device; he knows where the Quiet Men have taken Zealot. At their base, the current Sybarite taunts a paralyzed Zealot with his plan to use her DNA to make himself immortal.

- Boojum, Zealot's pet panther, is named after a fictional creature in the 1876 poem The Hunting of the Snark by English writer Lewis Carroll.
