History
Born in London England, little is known of the skilled swordsman lan Nottingham. Not only is this master of the martial arts fluent in several different languages, it is believed he could also be from Cherokee Indian descent. Employed and under the tutelage of Kenneth Irons, Nottingham has been bred his entire life to sustain pain and eventually wield the mystic gauntlet, the Witchblade. Though cold and cal- culating, lan shares a special relationship with Detective Sara Pezzini and even though he has faced her several times in combat, he has saved her from harm on multiple occasions and protected her with his own life.
Nottingham can catch bullets with his bare hands and slice a car in half with the precision of the most skilled surgeon but has always been a ser- vant, not a leader. Ian's greatest feat would have to be when he chose to lead a different life and faced his mas- ter, Kenneth Irons, in a fight to the death! He may have lost that battle but ultimately won the war by becom- ing his own person and showing the teacher that the
student was finally done being taught!Attributes

- Magical Absorption: Due to a magicial rune carved onto his left hand, Ian can absorb magical energy. He first demonstrated this feat when his first battle Sara Pezzini[1]
- Enhanced Reflexes: Ian has shown enhanced reflexes greater than a normal Human. His most common feat is catching bullets with his hands.

Ian may be one of the most skilled swordsman around, just ask the poor guy that got cut in half when he attempted to take out Kenneth Irons! (Witchblade issue #2) However, lan's best takedown has to be when he single-handedly absorbed the power of the Witchblade and the Darkness nearly destroying Sara and Jackie Estacado! Had he been able to retain that power, who knows if ANYONE would have been
able to stop him!
