History
Jimmy Witwicky was the son of Sparky and Mrs. Witwicky, at some point in time h received a brother in the form of Spike Witwicky. When Jimmy and Spike were younger they'd play with toy spaceships and pretend to go to outerspace, they'd also take a telescope to Hanger's Rock to look at the stars. Jimmy and his father had an especially close relationship, Sparky would witness as Jimmy went on his first expedition to space which his father was proud of.[1] [2] [3]
At some point in time, Jimmy and his father Sparky would be drafted into the Vietnam war. The two would join and fight on the front lines, during the battle Jimmy would be hit by a stray bullet and would die in his father's arms to his father's horror and immediate anger. [3]
Legacy[]
Jimmy's death would leave Sparky to become cold towards life, not wanting to remember his son due to the pain his son's memory brought he would begin drinking. Jimmy's brother, Spike, however would attempt to remember and honor his memory by doing things the two brothers used to. Sparky would think this was a bad idea and would advise Spike to leave the past in the past and try to forget everything which would cause conflict between the two. [1]
When Spike himself was injured by a stray bullet, Sparky would begin to have flashbacks about him and his son in the war and would bond with autobot leader Optimus Prime over it. Later when the autobots came under attack by the decepticons while trying to reclaim the Ark, Sparky would decide to do something for once and as a sacrifice for the only son he had left would go into the Matrix of Leadership to make things right by Jimmy giving Optimus enough energon to take down the decepticons.
