History
John Windsor was the founder of the seedling program involving the first United Nations-sanctioned peacekeeping superhero team StormWatch.
Windsor first introduced the team in 1978 with core members Jackson King as the team leader Battalion, Nautika and Flashpoint. He oversaw the progress and performance of each and every team member including determining who was best suited for leadership between Battalion and Flashpoint, eventually solidifying his selection of Battalion after a surprise attack on the training center by terrorists[1]. Fifteen years later, in 1993, Windsor was killed, leaving behind his legacy of StormWatch in the hands of a new generation to fight for the dream of world peace and a better tomorrow.
Windsor's death occurred while in Sarajevo[2], during an extraction mission involving refugee children. Windsor served as an United Nations envoy in charge of a bus transporting the refugee children as well as a certain unnamed seedling. Battalion and his Stormwatch One team were sent in to protect and escort Windsor and the children. Stormwatch however, was met with the intrusion of the Mercs led by Deathtrap[3] hired by the Cabal to retrieve the seedling. This resulted in a battle between the teams, endangering the children and Windsor. During the battle, Razer disabled the bus. Windsor told Battalion he would lead the passengers on foot to their extraction point and despite Battalion's pleas for Windsor to remain on the bus, insisted also on shielding the children from the Mercs. This resulted in Deathtrap firing a weapon directly at the unarmed Windsor, mortally wounding him[4].
