The Katellans were a race of aliens whose legends spoke of Supreme, a being who helped them achieve feats such as the victory at Maxia campaign[1] and the defeat of "Too-Lan-Roo."[2]
The renowned Katellan Admiral Kh'rk trained Lieutenant Kh'ambt. However, despite a promising career, Kh'ambt got accused of orchestrating a plot to overthrow the Katellan Emperor. Kh'ambt escaped with the Acuran Photon, his bitter rival.[3]
In 1986, Kh'ambt and Photon crash-landed on Earth. Alexander Graves, a high-ranking member of the Pentagon, made first contact with them by entering their ship. Kh'ambt was not cooperative. He was told he'd get political asylum in exchange for his knowledge of Katellan technology,[3] but in reality, Kh'ambt and Photon were imprisoned beneath the Pentagon with restraint collars. Six days later, Graves offered them the chance to join a task force where they'd be free and avoid "the dissection lab." This task force was called Youngblood.[4] Despite their public spotlight, the government covered up their alien origins.[5] However, when the time came for their debut, Graves replaced Kh'ambt with a clone who joined the Youngblood team as Combat.[citation needed]
In 1992, Kh'rk and an Acuran Ambassador orbited over Earth in an attempt to find Kh'ambt and Photon.[3] When Supreme reappeared on Earth after 47 years, Kh'rk focused his observation on him, wondering where his loyalties might lie now.[2]
