Synopsis for 1st story
After having destroyed much of a U.S. city with their battle, Supreme and his clone take their fight to the Ural Mountains in Russia. Each calls the other an impostor, and they continue to exchange blows. In 1939, after escaping from the experiment that transformed him, Ethan Crane roamed the streets until he was taken in by Father Beam, a Christian priest. Crane helped out around the church in exchange for room and board. In the present, Supreme and his clone are now fighting in a cluster of asteroids near Earth. Ultimately, Supreme blinds the clone and breaks his neck. Pondering the morality of what he has done, he tosses the clone’s corpse into the Sun. Maxine prints off her story on Supreme and turns it into her editor. She returns home to find Supreme waiting for her. They argue about his actions, and she admits investigating him has scared her into returning to her faith. He tells her he is leaving Earth again, and she asks what drove him to leave the first time. Supreme remembers being confronted by Father Beam about killing in battle. Supreme lost his temper and accidentally killed him. Horrified, he flew off into space. Irritated, Supreme tells Maxine off and flies away.
