History
Origins[]
In the 1940's Marshall Winslow and his grade school rival Ed Malone were about to settle their differences for good in a fight when they were struck by a meteorite. They were the only survivors in 5 miles and when the government took them to a facility to test them they found out that they had aquired superpowers, but only if they stayed within 30 feet of eachother. They then joined the fight against Germany during WW2.[1]
Capes, Inc[]
After the war Ed, Marshall and their partner Big Brain funded the private superhero company Capes, Inc but immediately encountered financial problems which forced they collegue Big Brainto secretly take control of The Nazi to wreack havoc and secure government funds for Capes, Inc.[2]
Chronodile[]
During the 80's Capes, Inc fought an incredible battle against a being known as the Chronodile and many superheroes died before Captain Cosmic launched a final attack against the monster and the two disappeared.[1]
Big Brain's Betrayal[]
One day Captain Cosmic seemengly returned from the dead and Big Brain held a meeting in which he spoke about the threat of the Chronodile. After the meeting Claire Voyant asked Ed to sleep with her but after he refused due to his link with Marshall she esxtended the invitation to him as well.[3] Capes, Inc eventually encountered new financial problems and to help with the situation Ed and Marshall agreed to be interviewed.[1]
Big Brain decided to take control of the Nazi again to secure more fundings and led an attack against Capes, Inc's headquarters. During the attack many heroes died and Ed was ripped in two by the monster. Enraged, Marshall launched a desperate assault against the Nazi but he failed and was overpowered. It was then revealed that the Nazi was actually under Big Brain's control. Big Brain then merged with the Nazi and left. After the battle Marshall became the leader of Capes, Inc and had Ed's remains cremated so that he could keep his ashes in his office.[2]Attributes
Powers
- Unique Physiology: After surviving a meteor Marshall gained several superhuman abilities while in proximity of fellow survivor Ed Malone. During the 40's he was considered one of the most powerful superheroes on Earth.[1]
- Superhuman Strength: Marshall was strong enough to damage The Nazi with his blows.[2]
- Superhuman Durability: Ed possessed unspecified levels of resistance to damage and was able to survive both the battles against the Chronodile[3] and The Nazi.[2]
- Flight: Marshall possessed the power of flight.[3]
Weaknesses
- Power Loss: Marshall loses his powers if he moves more than thirty feet away from Ed Malone.[3]
