Hey, Ben, I was the one who created that Invincible (Robot Duplicate) page that you deleted a few hours ago. I was wondering why it was deleted? I posted as much accurate knowledge that I could find and avoided the risk of using any pictures that could've been copy righted by not posting ANY pictures at all, what's the issue?
Hey Ben, we at Fandom may have an exciting opportunity for the Image Comics Database admins. If you're interested to know more, would you be ok with is emailing you? (Don't have to worry about posting your email publicly)
Hello, last night i created three pages but this morning when i checked i found out that were deleted and i was wondering why. I also edited the pages of Mr Glum and Lady Demeter but my edits were undone so i'd also like to know why.
The pages were Solar Man and Joey Finkleberry, two Savage Dragon's villains, and Joe Manning aka Rock, one of his allies.
Hey, Ben 1,000,911. I was trying to change from Battle Beast's son to Battle Beast daughter. But It seems Invincible #144 will require special permission to edit. Which is something I don't have. I'm messaging you to ask if you could change it.
Hi! I've been good, thanks for asking, how about you? And listen, I don't know when our conflict first started, but I really had a terrible year. I know that sounds like an excuse, like "you can maybe have a bad week or month but a year? come on that's exaggerating" but really SO many bad things happened to me in 2018 it was insane. I don't say that for sympathy, I just want you to know that I became a different person. You might not have known me before 2018 but there's a reason I was granted the position of admin on this wiki, and it wasn't for the bullying and petulant behavior I exhibited all of last year. I'm supposed to care not just about this wiki, but also about its users that appreciate Image Comics as much as I do. I'm not supposed to antagonize or ignore them. I feel changed, similar to how I was before last year, and I've reflected on many things in my personal life. You're not one of the things in my "personal" life obviously, and I'm glad I got a notification that you were unblocked because otherwise I might have forgotten. But upon reflecting I realize that I was completely in the wrong. I'm in a position of power and I have no right to abuse it just because I'm feeling terrible or I disagree with someone.
And I realize I'm rambling and these paragraphs may not even have a good cohesive structure but my point is I feel awful about what I did to you. As for the matter at hand, yeah I looked at the issue you're right dude that's totally a female idk how I didn't notice that before. I also don't know why I was so adamant on it being a male, that's just kind of a weird thing to harp on about so I'm sorry I don't know where my stubbornness about that came from either lol. So anyway to wrap up: I'm in a great place right now and I know nothing can beat the hell that was 2018. I don't know how old you are but I'm in college, and it's a wild time. If you've done that or are in it, you know what I'm talking about. If you're not there yet or are someone who didn't go to college after high school, I'm sure you've heard about it from your peers. Go ahead and make whatever edits you want, that's your right as a user. As an admin, if I disagree we can talk about it, but I won't block you again unless you like plagiarize or something. Hope to see you around here
Just got a message from HP Owner1 about being blocked. What's going on with that? I read his message about Throkk and went in and changed it from unknown son to unknown child in order to smooth over ruffled feathers. Since there is no actual page for this character, it can of course be changed later when he/she reappears again.
Otherwise, wtf??? Please advise.
Hey DeCast, good to hear from ya! I'd rather discuss this in chat because everything on wiki becomes public to anyone when someone checks recent wiki activity. I'm on EST and I don't have much time today, but I'll be free say tomorrow during daylight hours. When just this week in general would you be free to talk in chat for instance?
Fair enough, lemme summarize. This particular user has exhibited behavior in the past that on any other wiki would have gotten him/her banned permanently, but despite this as well as an intense situation that was weighing on my mind and making me hate the world, I decided to only block the user temporarily. Then, the Thokk edit occurred which originally I disagreed with. The user started acting uncivil yet again. But I've never been a fan of permanent blocks unless someone is a troll, so I banned the user for a bit longer but not for forever. I had hoped the time away would give the user time to reflect, but instead the user went on Community Central and tried to discredit me and my commitment to wikia.
There's something going on that I simply can't have the public world know about, so I'll only tell you if by chance you can go on chat sometime, but that combined with the user's behavior pissed me off. The best thing I could think to do when the user contacted me again was to ignore him/her until the block I had set would lift. When the user returned, I had prayed something would have changed. Nothing did. So I decided to do the closest thing I could think of to a permanent ban because honestly that's what I should have done in the first place, I was way too lenient before.
Seeing this message from you made me check the user's history on Community Central, and along with you he/she also attempted to contact other folks such as Una. Knowing all this, I'm sure you can see that the user's message to you is ridiculous, c'mon. Upon further examination I do think the user was right about the Thokk edit, so fine he/she told me so. But the user's behavior is unacceptable. I've dealt with enough shits to know one when I see one bro. Alec Xavier Verse, aka intoxicatelou, for example, if you're familiar with either of that particular person's identities. My point is, the user phrased this way out of context to you. I wouldn't want you to waste your time on him/her, expecially if you're busy with work man.
I actually received a new post from this person this morning and I tried to explain that I am in contact with you and working overtime in my personal life, but the message was completely not how this conversation began. I was utterly confused, but after reading your message to me, it now makes more sense. Apparently this user read this message before I had a chance to. Please let me think on this for a while and give you my recommendation, but I will not change anything before talking to you first. That's a promise.
Okay, I have been thinking about this... and working overtime and being exhausted... First, has Una weighed in on this? Whatever he says goes. However, I think 4 years is too long. I think it should be reduced to 3 months and if this user does this again, then a longer period.
He seems like he wants to contribute. Perhaps emotions got the best of us at the time and we can move on? Let's try to let him edit again and if we have anymore issues we can address immediately. I'm hoping with how passionate he seems to be about updating the wiki perhaps we can work together on it.
Oh wow that was fast lol. Technically yeah nothing was wrong with your edit, but since there's no page yet for the last Invincible issue, it makes for a broken link when you just put the picture in there. And that'd also be fine if you run into some admins who usually don't care (a la moi), but in Invincible's case I'll just make a page for it so the volume doesn't have that problem. I'll make a page for it soon, rn I'm studying for more semester finals but I always take a minute a few times a day to check activity on this wiki. Plus I was planning on creating it on December 19th (day before #143 comes out) anyway for spoiler warnings based on the cover. But thanks for the other edits you've been doing today! The admins here all appreciate it!
Removing links purely because they're redlinks is counterproductive, so I'd say those admins that don't like them are in the wrong, but hey that's just me. And it's no problem! Image Comics have some really great comics, so the wiki deserves to shine!
Oh hey man! Good to see you again! And once I make articles for Ursaal and Onaan i'll explain, but basically the twins first appear individually (apart from Thragg's other children) in #127 yes. However, the last of Thragg's children are born in #120, presumably including Ursaal and Onaan. #127 is post-reboot, meaning that 5 years have passed, as you know. #127 is their first appearance aged, but really with the other children they are present in #120 as well as in #122.
I originally listed #115 as their first appearances along with Thragg's other children, but I realized that there's no way of knowing if the twins were in that issue, but they definetly had to be in #120.
