Quote1 All seriousness aside, Boone... we need to wrap up this caper pretty darn quick! Those security geeks are getting pretty thick down there! Quote2
Hacker[1][src]

History

Michael Talbot, also known as Hacker, was an old acquaintance of John Stone. In 1993, Hacker was working with a mercenary named Boone to infiltrate a high-tech facility, looking at the security cameras through his laptop and guiding Boone via radio. When the guards found Hacker, he was rescued by the sudden appearance of John Stone, who needed help from Hacker and Boone.[1]

It took some effort, but Boone was convinced to hear Battlestone out. He took him and Hacker back to the Los Angeles branch of G.A.T.E. International, where he explained his team, Brigade was under attack by Bloodstrike, a top-secret government strike force led by his brother Cabbot Stone who were acting under orders of Washington to take down Brigade. Bloodstrike had already murdered one of their members, Stasis, and captured Kayo and Seahawk. Boone questioned why he should help Battlestone considering he had ran out on him, but Stone said he was trying to make the best out of a bad situation.[2]

After Boone agreed to join the team,[3] Brigade and Bloodstrike had an all out fight at the G.A.T.E. compound. With only Brigade member Kayo missing, Hacker tracked him to Bloodstrike's jet, and Brigade ally Martin Grant took it upon himself to retrieve him. Once everyone was assembled, Battlestone and Cabbot argued and beat the crap out of each other until Battlestone told Cabbot to leave Brigade alone or else he would expose Project: Born Again to the public. Finally, Cabbot told Battlestone to kill him, but Battlestone refused, saying letting him live was even worse, and left with Brigade. Brigade flew away in their jet, and Battlestone warned the team that Bloodstrike would come after them again, but letting them go sent a message to the puppet masters controlling their strings.[4]
