Synopsis for "Prometheus Unbound"

At Cyberdata, Dr. Heinrich Richtoffen oversees the testing of a cybernetic Bisey unit, but it melts immediately upon activation due to poor materials uses in its construction.  In Oklahoma, Bill O’Rourke drives his teenage daughter Lydia to Texas to get an abortion, verbally abusing her the entire way.  Weeks later, he receives a call from Richtoffen.  O’Rourke is the manager of a local refinery owned by Cyberdata, and Richtoffen orders a meeting for the following morning.  Meanwhile, Lydia sneaks out to meet her married lover Jim at a motel.  After they have sex, he breaks up with her.  The next morning at the refinery, Richtoffen instructs O’Rourke to burn the place down to circumvent Cyberdata’s contract to operate it for another decade.  Jim, who works at the facility, overhears the order. That night, after having a vision of a burning skull, Lydia goes to Jim’s house seeking his help.  She arrives just as he is leaving for the refinery and hides in the back of his truck.  At the refinery, Jim catches O’Rourke starting the fire, and the two men fight as Lydia watches from nearby.  Richtoffen arrives with two Bisey units and orders them to kill all witnesses, including O’Rourke.  They find Lydia, but she telepathically causes them to destroy each other.  O’Rourke learns Jim is Lydia’s lover and kills him. Seeing this triggers Lydia’s memory of her father burning her mother to death over an affair.  In revenge, Lydia telepathically immobilizes him so that he burns to death in the fire.  Impressed by her power, Richtoffen invites her to join Cyberdata, and she accepts.
