Synopsis for "Mind Games"
The G.A.T.E. agents bring the captive New Men to New Haven, Quantum’s former base that is now G.A.T.E.'s new headquarters, and turn them over to scientist Dr. Khrysall. In Seattle, Fowles has freed Pilot following news of the hate plague and reveals that G.A.T.E. International has taken the New Men. At New Haven, Khrysall has placed the minds of the team in virtual reality with the goal of conditioning them to become G.A.T.E. operatives. Unaware they are in a simulation, the New Men awaken in a meadow and are almost immediately attacked by combat droids. They use their powers to destroy the robots and leave to seek shelter. All the while, the Nameless One who has been posing as Exit watches from nearby, afraid to reveal his true self to the team. Having monitored the conflict, Khrysall is pleased by the New Men’s performance. His boss Jedemiah Hagstrom, however, wants further assurance that they are a worthy investment for G.A.T.E. Back in Seattle, Fowles loans Pilot and the others weapons and a helicopter to help in their search for their teammates. After they leave, a G.A.T.E. operative tells Fowles he did a good job setting them up and kills him.
