Synopsis for 1st story
Dash flees with her infant son from armored pursuers only to be caught by Crypt. She gets away from him, but her son—now an adult—tells her she must let him go. With that, she wakes up in a D.C. hospital, still in labor. Proctor is by her bedside, and she recounts her dream to him. He then goes to the waiting area and asks Byrd and Reign which of them is the father. Byrd says he cannot be because, despite their relationship, he and Dash have yet to sleep together. Reign, however, refuses to answer. Enraged, Byrd attacks him, and they fight until Pilot breaks it up. Reign insists the gem he wears on his head made him have sex with her. At the University of Colorado, a man playing football stumbles into student Jamie Forester, and she swats him away with superhuman strength, slamming him into a tree. An anonymous observer laments that she has ruined everything without even realizing she possesses the Nu-Gene. In Seattle, Elemental finds the broken object from which Ikonn escaped and flies off in search of the Genesis Pods. Back in D.C., Pilot reveals to the New Men that the Nu-Gene is not naturally occurring but rather the product of genetic engineering by aliens to breed a slave race. Byrd and Proctor leave to join Dash as she gives birth while the others argue with Pilot about the revelation. A nurse walks out with the baby, and—in only minutes—he has already grown into a toddler.
