History
Queen Cloudia is the ruler of Fairyland. She assigned Larry Wenstworth to be Gertrude's guide to leave Fairyland. She estimated it would only take a few days. However, after Gertrude got lost, she spent the next 27-years in Fairyland and became a terror and killed many denizens.[1]
Since Cloudia was restricted from harming her directly due to diplomatic immunity, Cloudia soon sent assassins in her place. Including Horribella, a witch who turned thousands of faun into zombies to attack Gertrude.[2] When they all failed, Cloudia approached the Council of Elders. They devised a loophole by inviting a another child, Happy, to Fairyland. If Happy were able to get a key and leave before Gertrude, Gertrude would then become a permanent resident, of which, Cloudia could harm.[3]
Gertrude approached Queen Cloudia to ask about the new child, Happy. Uncharacteristically, the Queen snapped at her but was unable to harm Gertrude due to the rules of Fairyland. As the Queen left, she warned Gertrude about Happy. When Larry checked the rule book, he realized Gertrude would become vulnerable as a permanent citizen if Happy found the key first.[4]
Happy soon found the key as all the denizens of Fairyland helped her, with the M.O. of getting rid of Gertrude. Happy was about to put the key in the door and leave Fairyland when Gertrude arrived at the last second and used her powers to kill Happy. Gertrude was about to put the key in the door when the Queen made a quip about there not being more death insinuating she wished that Gertrude had died. Gertrude turned and used her new powers to kill Queen Cloudia. However, the key suddenly disappeared. Larry informed her that whomever killed the queen, would become the new ruler of Fairyland and be stuck there forever.[5]See Also
