Synopsis for "The Monster Within, Part 3: I'd Rather Be -- In 1963"
ShadowHawk landed in 1963 and fought the Fury before the young hero offered to help him.
In 1994, Tina worried about Paul, as her leg was recovering.
Back in 1963, the Fury introduced ShadowHawk and the Tomorrow Syndicate to each other before fighting Comrade Cockroach and his fellow villains (consisting of Anubis, the Red Brain, Doctor Apocalypse, the Voidoid, and the Beastnik), as the time-traveler believed that the Russian had unleashed the A.I.D.S. virus unto the world. However, ShadowHawk failed to stop Comrade Cockroach from injecting the virus into a laboratory assistant, who would spread it. Afterwards, the Tomorrow Syndicate took ShadowHawk to Johnny Beyond with the hopes of curing him, although the sorcerer also failed.
Back at the Tomorrow Complex, the Tomorrow Syndicate learned that the other villains had disappeared and Horus declared that they had failed. Meanwhile, the lab assistant arrived in Africa with the intention to spread the A.I.D.S. virus.
Notes
- This issue also includes two ShadowHawk pull-out posters by Bryan Taylor and Takeharu Toyoshima, who had won contests held by Wizard and Hero Illustrated, respectively.
Trivia
- The Fury was hesitant to help ShadowHawk at first because the latter was "colored."
