History
Before the zombie apocalipse broke loose and decimated human society, Shane was a police officer, friend and partner of Rick Grimes. On day, Rick got shot during a shooting on the road and ended in coma.[1] Shane took care of Lori and Carl, Rick's wife and son, when the chaos started.
When the government suggested the people to head to the big cities, he took Lori and Carl there. On the road, he had an affair with Lori. However, the cities became overrun with zombies within weeks, and they ended up in a survivor camp in the outskirts of Atlanta. Shane acted as the leader of the group, and had the conviction that someone would eventually come to rescue them. Things started to change when Rick woke up from the coma and appeared on the camp, reuniting with his wife and son. Not only he was jealous of Lori, but also of his position of authority, because Rick, being a Police Deputy, took the lead of the group and claimed it was a better idea to move the camp to a safer location.[2]
Shane attempts to kill Rick, but Carl saves his father
Eventually, after an attack that resulted in the dead of Amy and Jim, Shane snapped at Rick, who blamed him for not moving the camp when Rick told him. Shane punched Rick in front of everyone, and the whole camp watched him with fear and disapproval, especially Lori. He then attempted to murder Rick in the forest, but Carl sneaked up around him and shot Shane in the neck.[3] The group buried Shane and moved camp. On the road, Lori told Rick that she was pregnant, and all hinted that Shane was the father.[4]
Even though he wasn't bit, Shand came back as a zombie after being buried. Months later, Rick found out that who could have become a zombie and returned to his grave, unbired him, and shot him in the head, putting an end for once to his friend's "life."[5]See Also
