Synopsis for 1st story
While Battalion and Fuji spar in the Skywatch training center, terrorists sneak aboard. Their leader, Marco Garcia, is out for revenge on Battalion, and he kills one of his associates for questioning him. Weatherman One detects their presence and notifies Battalion. He lures them into the training center and subdues them. Afterward, Synergy stops by Jackson’s quarters to question him about the incident, but he refuses to talk. After she leaves, he recalls his selection as field leader 15 years earlier. His rival, Foster McClane a.k.a. Flashpoint, picked a fight, but Jackson bested him, winning the role. Later, while testing out their combat gear, Battalion, Flashpoint, and their teammate Nautika were attacked by Garcia and the Third World Liberation Front. With Backlash’s help, StormWatch defeated the Front. But, Battalion inadvertently mindwiped Garcia’s younger brother with his powers during the battle. Garcia vowed revenge as he was taken into custody. In Washington, D.C., one terrorist who escaped informed their employer, Ivana Baiul, what happened and their failure to acquire data on Stormwatch. In response, she decided to move forward with Project: Genesis. Back in New York, John Windsor introduced Stormwatch to the news media. In the present, Batallion mourns Windsor and resolves to carry on his dream.
