Synopsis for 1st story
Hellstrike recalls his career as a detective with Scotland Yard, Deathtrap’s murder of his lover and partner, and the activation of his powers by the comet. Meanwhile, he has transformed into an energy form that threatens to tear Skywatch apart. Battalion helps Fuji and Winter restrain him until technicians are able to place him in a containment unit. Synergy, the new Weatherman One, convenes the full team and explains the unit is only a temporary solution. Unless they can stabilize Hellstrike in a few hours, she will have to eject him into space to save the rest of the crew. She dispatches Stormwatch Prime to help repair the station and Stormwatch Two, led by Winter, to aid Russian forces in Siberia. After the meeting, she reassures Battalion that, even with her promotion, she wants to continue their relationship. Fuji refuses to let Hellstrike die and exposes his own energy form in order to communicate. On the astral plane, he convinces Hellstrike, who is ready to die, to consider his duty and return to life. Hellstrike takes control of his energy form, ending the threat to Skywatch. In Russia, Winter and Stormwatch return to the Siberian base and search for the Russian troops. Instead, Cannon and Strafe are blasted by a large, armored opponent.
Notes
- This issue includes a pin-up of Battalion and Cannon by Anthony Vu and Chuck Gibson.
