Synopsis for 1st story
Battalion leads Stormwatch to the base in Iraq only to find it laid waste, Blitz and all the troops dead, and both the nuclear weapons and their teammates missing. Weatherman orders the team to Israel where Unit Aleph, Shin Bet’s superhuman strike team, has detained Abu Fawaz, the leader of al Fatahl, the terrorist group Heaven’s Fist works for. Upon arrival, Unit Aleph’s commander, Gen. Itzhak Solomon, explains they are unable to verify Fawaz’s identity nor telepathically scan his mind. Winter tries to interrogate him while the rest of Stormwatch trains with Unit Aleph. Later, Weatherman and Talmud, Unit Aleph’s cybernetic analyst, brief both teams that the stolen nuclear weapons are neutron bombs which al Fatahl intends to detonate in Belgrade, Tel Aviv, and an undetermined third location. Weatherman orders Stormwatch to Belgrade while Cannon and Unit Aleph deal with the bomb in Tel Aviv. Battalion sends Flashpoint to find their teammates. At an al Fatahl base, Heaven’s Fist holds Blademaster, Comanche, Flint, Prism, Swift, and Synergy captive and prepares to move them. In Tehran, Flashpoint questions and kills al Fatahl’s weapons supplier. Upon entering Yugoslavian airspace, Stormwatch is attacked by Yugoslavian military aircraft. The team fights their way through, and Battalion secretly drops off Winter in a tunnel before they fly away. Winter is met by Scythe, a Yugoslav former member of Stormwatch and his ex-girlfriend. Despite her orders to arrest him, she lets him go to Belgrade where he flies the bomb away from the city and absorbs its energy when it detonates. Flashpoint contacts Battalion and says he has learned the rest of al Fatahl’s plans.
