Synopsis for "Interlude"
Supreme destroys the last of Darkthornn’s Disciples still wreaking havoc on Earth, but his eye is injured in the process. As he flies off, Dexter Cortex appears to him via hologram and offers to treat his injury. Supreme flies to Cor-Tek where Cortex operates on it. After Supreme gives thanks and leaves, Cortex reveals to his assistant that the man who just left is not the real Supreme. The next day, Charles Flanders takes Supreme up to his cabin in the Allegheny Mountains for a vacation. That night, Supreme is sitting outside by the fire when Glory arrives and makes out with him. Inside, Flanders finds Maxine Winslow’s biography of Supreme online. He runs out to tell Supreme but finds him kissing an animalistic woman. Believing her dangerous, Flanders shoots her with a shotgun. Suddenly, tree branches come out of the ground and attack him and Supreme. A man named Equinox appears seeking revenge for the woman, his daughter. After a brief battle, Supreme deduces Equinox’s power lies in his staff and threatens to break it. The woman, named Roe, cries out for them to stop and explains destroying the staff would destroy everything for miles. She reveals that she and Equinox are the last of their extradimensional race, she sensed Supreme’s loneliness, and she was overcome with desire for him. She invites Supreme to come with her and Equinox, but he reluctantly declines, and they leave.
