Quote1 I don't wish to see others suffer at the hands of the council as I did. You see, the D'Vorans collect peoples from all over the galaxy, and they bring them here to work as slaves or to serve as... entertainment. Such was the case on my homeworld. I can never forgive the D'Vorans for the pain and humilation they've inflicted on my people. Quote2
Talyn[1][src]

History

Talyn was the leader of the Birds of Prey, a team of outlaw heroes operating on the planet D'Vor, where they were taken following their abduction from their home planets. Though the Imperial High Council of D'Vor had a long history of enslaving the people of neighboring worlds, the Birds of Prey rebelled, refusing to serve the council and dedicating their lives to help others resist the tyranny of the D'Vorans.[2][3]

In 1992, Talyn and his Birds helped a group of humans who were being assaulted by the D'Voran task force called The Factor, composed by Knockdown, Reign and Trek.[4] Not wanting to fight the Birds of Prey in their territory, The Factor fled. Battlestone, the leader of the humans, was reluctant to trust the Birds, but he was convinced to give it a try by his second-in-command.[5]

A few days later, Talyn shared his motivations with Battlestone to build trust. Both teams were found by the Imperial High Guard, who led them towards the Citadel, where the D'Voran prince Genocide was waiting for them. Genocide challenged Battlestone to a one-on-one match, but the Birds of Prey and the humans joined in quickly enough. Battlestone insisted on fighting Genocide himself, and left the teams to take care of the guards. Genocide attempted a sneak attack against Stone, but when Talyn got him out of the way, the attack hit one of Battlestone's teammates instead, killing him.[6]

In a fury, Battlestone pummelled Genocide, but Talyn stopped him just short from killing the prince, saying he couldn't let Bloodstone do that and that he'd see that Genocide saw justice. Talyn shared Stone's grief, but killing Genocide wouldn't bring his partner back to life. While the humans boarded a ship, Talyn told Battlestone he shouldn't worry about the Birds because they were survivors. Before departing to Earth, Battlestone told Talyn he regretted his initial mistrust.[7]
