Synopsis for "Don't Look Back"
Team 7 is in Leningrad to extract a technician from a high-security facility. They use their powers to sneak past Soviet troops and enter the building. A psychic operative senses their arrival and attacks. Lynch orders the team to proceed with the extraction while he battles the operative. Nearing defeat, Lynch claws out his own eye and fires a psionic blast from the socket that kills the operative. The team comes back for him just before he passes out. He comes to a week later at IO in Virginia. Cash is enraged that Craven and Newman are back and once again in charge of IO. He, Callahan, Chang, and Fairchild quit the team. On his way out, Cash lashes out at Slayton over something he did in Leningrad, but Slayton swiftly beats him with his psionic tentacles. Meanwhile, Newman escorts the catatonic Dane to IO headquarters’ Level Nine which does not officially exist. The beings imprisoned there telepathically taunt Newman and welcome Dane. Afterward, Newman learns that Craven wanted Team 7 to break up though he intends to continue using some of its members. Later, the former members discuss their future plans at a barbecue, and Callahan announces that his wife Becky is pregnant.
