Synopsis for "The Deadly Breed"
Backlash helps German operatives rescue a plane full of hostages, using his psionic tentacles to take down the terrorists responsible. In Arizona, Becky Callahan and her infant daughter take refuge on the San Carlos Apache Reservation with her family. At IO, Craven wants Backlash to take command of a Stormwatch team. Suddenly, Gabriel Newman seizes in pain, sensing the Level Nine prisoners breaking free. Around the world, the former members of Team 7 emit a strange glow. Deathblow is visiting X’ing “Zig-Zag” X’iang at college when she senses the escape as well. Team 7 reunites at IO headquarters to stop the breakout. Slayton and Cash have flashbacks to the Leningrad mission. The Level Nine prisoners burst out of the IO building using Dane as their vessel, forcing Team 7 to combine their powers to defend themselves. Deathblow arrives with Zig-Zig, and she uses her powers to sever the prisoners’ link with Dane and force them back into IO. Afterward, she tells Team 7 she can sense one message repeating in Dane’s mind over and over—Craven wants their children.
