Synopsis for "The Fifth Corner of the World"
Standing over an unconscious Dane, the members of Team 7 ponder his warning and realize Craven wants their children for the superhuman abilities they may genetically inherit. With Backlash and Deathblow staying behind, Zig-Zag uses her powers to create a distraction enabling the rest of the team to escape. Hiding in an alley, Cash recalls how Slayton killed Dbovchek by throwing him out of the helicopter. In addition to being a brilliant scientist, Dbovchek was a democratic activist, and both the U.S. and Soviet government viewed him as dangerous. Cash says he has a plan to protect the children, and Team 7 disperses. At IO, Backlash uses his powers to stop Cray from choking Craven and to knock out Zig-Zag. Both are then taken into custody. Callahan arrives home to find armored IO agents holding his family hostage, and he attacks them. Cash infiltrates IO and downloads a virus into their computer network to block access to all files related to Team 7. Slayton catches him and attacks, but Gabriel Newman telepathically knocks Slayton out and lets Cash escape. Later, Slayton ambushes Craven at his home and tells him he made a mistake in pursuing the children. Newman and Zig-Zag are imprisoned at an IO facility in Maryland.
