Synopsis for "Welcome Home"
After Sentinel gives a press conference on the Liberty II mission, Cougar, Masada, and Riptide are given some time off. Dutch and Photon stay and join Sentinel, Shaft, and Badrock in meeting with the lab technician who survived Psi-Fire’s escape. Unbeknownst to them, Psi-Fire has possessed her. At home, Riptide listens to the messages on her answering machine. One is from a magazine publisher who wants her to pose nude; the other is a goodbye from Brahma that makes her cry. Masada is unpacking in her apartment when she is suddenly overwhelmed by the spirits that fuel her powers. Back at Youngblood headquarters, Sentinel apologizes to Dutch for imprisoning him for five years for working for Cybernet. Cougar wakes up to one of the Jakarra, his native feline people, perched at the end of his bed. The Jakarra taunts Cougar that they have abducted his mother and, after a brief fight, flees.

Synopsis for "The Coming of Cougar! part 1"
In 1967, deep in the wilderness of Zaire, the Jakarra ambush the expedition of paleobotanist Meg Tsuchida. While they kill everyone else, she is spared thanks to the intervention of the Jakarran king Khylund and taken captive. They take her to their kingdom, Kahega, where she and Khylund become lovers. Eventually, she gives birth to a son. The other Jakarra are outraged that Khylund has bred with a human and vow that Meg and her baby must die.
