Synopsis for 1st story
The issue begins with Ed Thompson calling his son to apologize for being late. He is supposed to be up in their space station monitoring for threats. He is hoping there haven't been any problems that he missed warning Zack about.
But that is not the case. When he gets to the monitoring station he sees that Zack is in the middle of a fight with what appears to be Invincible. His dad tells him that maybe he should back off, he's not sure that Zack's tech jacket can handle a fight with Invincible and he doesn't think the lasers would work either. Suddenly another Invincible joins in the fight and knocks Zack all the way down to the ground.
Ed wonders how there are two Invincibles and what is going on. His warning systems goes off and he sees that there are versions of Invincible attacking all over the world. The monitor shows Brit and Donald Ferguson battling one of them. Atom Eve is fighting one and so is Invincible's younger brother Young Omni-Man. This Earth's Invincible is also fighting one of these evil versions of himself.
Back down on the ground, the second Invincible that Zack was fighting is disgusted at the first one for having so much trouble fighting Zack. The first one explains that they didn't have a Tech Jacket in his dimension. The second Invincible says his dimension didn't have one either but he recognizes the Geldarian technology. He's never seen another species wear the tech jacket armor. The potential power of a more powerful race wearing the technology could be enormous.
Zack interrupts the Invincible's thoughts by punching him. The Invincibles start beating on him again and tell him that he is way out of his league. Zack agrees, he's not strong or fast enough to fight them. But the armor does have vast potential and he's had an idea for how to use it for times like this when nothing else will work.
Zack grabs one of them by the head and orders the armor to override it's fail safes, route all power to the battery, and overload the system. The armor lets off a huge explosion and kills both of the evil alternate dimension Invincibles.
Kanda arrives just after the explosion. Ed had called him and some other Geldarians to help. Kanda says they will take him to the local hospital where the local people know Zack and will keep his secret. Kanda just hopes that they can keep him alive long enough.
Later at the hospital, Ed, Lynn, and Princess Lin are gathered around Zack. He's in a coma and Ed is apologizing to him. Lin tells him not to blame himself but he is really worried about his son. Zack finally wakes up at this point and tells his dad that it wasn't his fault.
A couple of months later, Zack is finally healed up and tired of spending most of his time in bed. Ed tells him not to worry, Kanda and the other Geldarians have been pitching in and patrolling for him. Zack suddenly looks upset and says that he's having a hard time with the fact that he had to kill two people. He needs time to think about what he is doing.
His mom says that what he needs is a vacation. He thinks she's talking about a family trip and asks where they are going to go. His mom explains that the vacation is just for him. And that Lin should go with him, although she doesn't want any hanky panky.
In another galaxy, a giant being is feeding off of a planet. He is talking about consuming weaker planets and having them empower him into ascending to godhood. A bounty hunter named Null suddenly flies through the being's head and kills him. His agent tells him that the client will be pleased and lets Null know that he has another lucrative job offer for him.
The new client explains that he is becoming weak. But he knows of a way to make himself strong again. He tells Null about the Geldarians. About how they are a weak race that invented technology to make their bodies strong. He shows Null footage of Tech Jacket on Earth and explains that having armor on a stronger race has not only increased the strength of the wearer, but also the strength of the armor since the relationship is symbiotic. He wants Null to go to Earth and bring him back Tech Jacket's armor.
Back on Earth, Zack and Lin are in Costa Rica for their vacation and ignoring Zack's mom's rule of no hanky panky. They take their clothes off and are about to get intimate but then they both notice that their anatomies are not compatible. It seems that humans and Geldarians cannot have sex together. They won't be able to be together that way and they aren't sure where that leaves their relationship.
