History

Life Prior to 1963

Nothing is known about Ulysses Samson Armstrong's life prior to becoming U.S.A.

He became U.S.A. by the 1920's and a member of the Gangbusters.

During World War II in the 1940's, he fought Nazis as a member of the Victory Vanguard, along with the Fightin' Fury, King Zero, American Beauty, and the original Hypernaut, and met his future self from 1963, along with other members of the Tomorrow Syndicate. He was also best friends with Hypernaut since the war.

Double Deal in Dallas

In 1963, he had prevented the assassination of President John F. Kennedy at the hands of Shaft, who impersonated Leo Harley Osborne. Brian Ruby, who was secretly the Red Brain, attempted to kill the impersonator, but was stopped by U.S.A.'s intervention, only to be killed by the impersonator.

From Here to Alternity

U.S.A., along with his fellow Tomorrow Syndicate members were summoned to the Tomorrow Complex by Inframan, regarding him tracking a radiation signal found in weapons used by a criminal called the Voidoid to a location in Manhattan. They arrived at the Mystery Mile and found a portal, which they used to travel through the Time-Stream in search of Mystery Incorporated and track the radiation signal. In the Time-Stream, he met his past self from the 1940's and the Victory Vanguard. When they left the Time-Stream, they entered a reality, in which they met enemies including the Tomorrow Gang and the Orbiteer. They returned to the Time-Stream and ended up in a dystopian reality, in which they tracked the radiation signal from the Voidoid's weapons.
