Synopsis for the 1st Story

Years ago in Ottawa, Jim yelled at Amber to stop watching TV. He was annoyed that the news had been playing the same loop all day. The White House was shown in flames from an unknown terrorist attack. Amber's mom tried to scan the air-waves to see if any one has claimed responsibility for the bombing. Suddenly, US missiles bombed their city and a US jet fired a model salvo into their living room. As Jim bled out, he told his son, Tommy, to take care of his little sister Amber and never let her out of his sight.

Amber We Stand on Guard 001

Amber grows up tough in a war-torn nation.

Years later in 2124 Yellowknife, an adult Amber is suddenly attacked by a US Dog of War. When it is about to kill her for failure to produce her identity, resistance members appear. They blow the bot up and then ask her how she's survived in the wild. She replies she's had her brother with her until a month ago when US soldiers captured him. They patch her up with meds and tell their own background stories. One man tells her about his Man of Steel tattoo. He says Superman is really Canadian since his first artist was a Canadian.

A gigantic walking tank interrupts the conversation when it marches into view. They pull off a coordinated attack and disable the machine. They attempt to cut into its brain to control it. However, when the hatch opens, an American soldier kills Booth. They disarm him and talk about killing him. Chief McFadden orders Amber to kill the man to prove she's not a spy. As another squad-mate protests and thinks they can get valuable intel out of him, Amber puts a bullet through the man's head. The Chief welcomes her to the Two-Four.
