Synopsis for "Prologue Three"
Stone lashes out with his powers and manages to wound N’golth. He tries to use Lorelei’s staff, but energy feedback knocks him out. N’golth takes him and Lorelei’s corpse back to the Moon. In the T’srri base, second-in-command Erisha sends armored troops after Kikuyo, Jamie, and Valaria. When attacked, Valaria morphs into a super-strong behemoth and slaughters her assailants. Erisha then uses knockout gas to render her, Jamie, and Kikuyo unconscious and takes them captive. Upon N’golth’s return, the T’srri scan Stone and discover their missing logic module has implanted itself in his brain. Stone awakens and uses his powers to break free and reach for Lorelei’s staff. This time, it morphs into body armor and an energy gun which he uses to free Kikuyo, Jamie, and Valaria and teleport away with them. They materialize on a mountain overlooking Denver, and Stone has them introduce themselves. Jamie is an Englishman who was on the run from a press gang for the British Navy when he was abducted; Kikuyo is the daughter of a medieval Japanese noble who was taken on the way to her wedding; Valaria is a Roman child who was fleeing a volcanic eruption. With her is her dog Janus who has been transformed by the T’srri as well and can now talk. Stone explains they were all taken centuries ago to serve as foot soldiers for the T’srri. The original T’srri were invaders from a parallel universe, and N’golth seeks to bring them back via the gateway on the Moon. Suddenly, Lorelei materializes in the front of the group and greets Stone.
