Synopsis for "The High Road to China"
In 1297, explorer Marco Polo is leading a caravan through the Himalayas when the barbarian Dark Riders, led by Hightower, attack. Having arrived nearby, the WildC.A.T.s use their powers to drive the Riders off. Suddenly, Max falls through thin ice into freezing water. Spartan rescues him, and Olympia is able to heal his hypothermia by possessing him. In the process, she and Max realize their feelings for each other. Spartan and Sister Eve then use their abilities to make shelter for the night. In the present, Antonio Giovanni of Department PSI meets with Zealot and invites her to join a new venture. Back in 1297, the Puritans arrive while, elsewhere, Marco Polo leads the WildC.A.T.s to a rendezvous with his contact, Lord Entropy. Entropy then leads them to Polo’s destination, the hidden city of Shangri-La.
Trivia
- Though not made explicit in this story, Zealot's meeting with Antonio Giovanni marks her departure to join Wildcore.
