History

Youngblood was a super-hero team who worked for the government with Shaft as leader of the home team and Sentinel as leader of the away team,[2] under the guidance of Director Alexander Graves[4] and Secretary Alan Keever. At some point, Sentinel, Combat, Vogue and Masada took Bloodpool cadets Haze, Reznor, Whitewash and Sliver to a training expedition, but they were intercepted by Whitewash's kin, an enlightened, immortal race that revealed Whitewash had commited an unconscionable sin and they needed to test him by making him face a vision of something he feared, along with all the other Youngblood and Bloodpool members, for the sake of creating a baseline. Whitewash failed the test and was evolutionary regressed to a lower form of life, to eventually be tested again. The rest proved themselves worthy, but Sliver stood out among the others and decided to join the immortal race and become one of them. Afterwards, the race erased the memories of everyone involved, who returned to Youngblood's headquarters, not realizing they were two Bloodpool members lighter.[3]

In August, 1996, Youngblood saved Omegapolis, a feat that earned Badrock front page news.[1]

In August 30th, 1997, Sentinel stole the Book of Mercury from Riptide's room, killing her in the process. To hide his crime, he manipulated events by writing them into the book, making Knightsabre place himself in the scene of the crime to incriminate him.[5] After being found by Vogue, Masada and Badrock, they took the news to Sentinel and Shaft, who called Officer Dragon to handle the case. Reconvening with Diehard, Officer Dragon decided they'd need a special courtroom to keep civilians out of the matter. Diehard used his Allies connections and contacted Supreme, who supplied his Citadel Supreme to host the trial, Katherine McKinnon to act as Judge, Shona Shane to act as prosecutor and Toby Tyler as defense.[2] As the trial progressed, the President's administration decided it was bad press and cut Youngblood's funding, disbanding the team.[4]

After the trial was over and Sentinel was found guilty,[5] Shaft was approached by Waxey Doyle, who offered to fund a new Youngblood team. After holding auditions, the team consisted of Shaft, Doc Rocket, Twilight, Johnny Panic, Suprema and Big Brother. Through early December, they began training, and they had their first mission on Christmas Eve when they fought Stormhead.[6][7] For their second outing, they faced The Occupant, an alien entity that escaped from the secret organization known as The Veil.[8] On their third mission, Youngblood faced the disgraced Sentinel, who led a group of villains called Badblood.[9] Following an attack by Jack-a-Dandy's Jackettes, who tried to use Youngblood's computers to find the Allies of Evil's lost treasure, Youngblood searched for it as well, but fell in a trap laid by Jack-a-Dandy that transported them to the past.[10] Back in the present, Youngblood answered a distress call to capture the robot S.P.I.C.E., who had gone rogue.[11]
