History
1986[]
Following the leak of a recording of Operation: Knightstrike executing a Guatemalan drug cartel, and an attack on a federal installation by the super-criminals known as The Four, politician Alexander Graves created Youngblood to divert the media's attention to more colorful government heroes. The name was inspired by the American rock band of the same name.[1] The original line-up was made up by Sentinel, Photon, Combat, Chapel, Battlestone and Diehard.[1]1988[]
In the Summer of 1988, Thomas John McCall was recruited into the team. That same day, Youngblood members Battlestone, Chapel, Diehard, Riptide, and traditional soldiers Colonel Boggs, Lt. Gamble and Raines were deployed to Kuwait to prevent Hassan Kussein's Iraqui Army from invading. Although they defeated the first strike, the mission was cancelled after Boggs, Raines and Gamble were killed, and team leader Battlestone was relieved of duty.[2]Notes
